About Oasis Social Ministry

Helping End Hunger —One Meal at a Time

Meeting the communities nutritional and essential needs.

Who We Are

Oasis Social Ministry provides support to homeless and marginalized people, primarily in Portsmouth, VA, and surrounding areas. We provide a number of services, including a community soup kitchen, a client choice food pantry, and a thrifty boutique—all free of charge.

Our Mission

Our efforts in hunger relief are grounded by a true spirit of ensuring people of all colors, in all communities, have equitable access to healthy, nutritious food, clothing, and other essentials.

All of our work would not be possible without help from our amazing volunteers. Looking to get involved in charity work in Portsmouth, Chesapeake, or Suffolk? We have a number of volunteer opportunities available in our soup kitchen, client choice food pantry, thrifty boutique, and other offerings. Can’t donate your time? We offer multiple nonprofit donation opportunities—including food, clothing, monetary donations, and more.

We work tirelessly to help alleviate hunger in our community and it wouldn’t be possible without our wonderful team. While the Oasis Social Ministry team is predominantly a volunteer organization in Portsmouth VA, we are also made up of a board of directors and staff members.
